Wedding Life Expectancy

Jan 17, 2012   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on Wedding Life Expectancy

The other day I was perusing the interwebs when I came across an article that was trying to put a wedding day into perspective. The point was to take each element of a typical wedding and consider the amount of time that specific part takes up in the day and compare it in the grand scheme of things in a lifetime of a marriage. I decided to make a little graphic to illustrate the point:

When you take a step back and look at it, the things that really last from your wedding day are the memories…and I believe that videography is one of the BEST ways to capture and remember those moments.

PS.  I also want to draw on the fact that Vows have a lifetime expectancy.  The only catch to doing wedding videography for me is that I really don’t want repeat business. I want those memories captured to be just as beautiful 50 years from now as they were on their wedding day.   Just as I believe that photography and videography are meant to last a lifetime, I believe that vows are meant to last a lifetime as well.  It’s a beautiful thing.

Keigo + Judy

Jan 15, 2012   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on Keigo + Judy

Keigo and Judy were married on a perfect October morning in one of the gardens on the University of Georgia campus. From the very beginning they were all smiles for the cameras and you can truly tell how much they absolutely adore each other. (Just listen to how Keigo says, “WOW!” when he sees Judy for the first time).

From the ceremony we walked over to La Dolce Vita where they were able to eat, smile, and laugh with all of the friends and family that were there to share in their wedding.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of their big day as two families came together and we wish them the very best!

Special thanks to Mark Bridges for being a second cameraman for the day.

The Davis Family

Dec 27, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog, Photography  //  Comments Off on The Davis Family

We were really looking forward to taking family photos of the Davis Family, but we were a little worried about the weather. It was December, after all, so it will probably be cold, wet, and/or both. To our surprise, it was a perfect day. Not too hot so that the subjects were sweating and not too cold so that they are shivering. My favorite part about this shoot is that we were able to do it all on their own property. The scenic fields and rugged fenceposts made for some amazing backdrops and it turned out to be a fun little afternoon in December.

Merry Christmas!

Extra Luggage

Dec 19, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on Extra Luggage

We’ve seen a lot of interesting things at weddings over the years.  Some funny, some touching, and some just flat out embarrassing.  Most of my experiences have led to some form of “Advice for the Couple” that I would pass on as they are preparing for their wedding day.

Thanks to Ben and Rebecca’s wedding I have a new one, and it is this:

Check your luggage BEFORE you leave the premises.

You never know what you may find.

Finished Product

Dec 13, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on Finished Product

Ever wondered what the finish product looked like once all of the videos were done and shipped off?  Thanks for asking.  Here you go:

As you can see, we like to give it a nice, classy feel…almost like the front of a movie poster.  All images used are provided by the couple once they’ve received them from the photographer.  If your photographer doesn’t release the image copyright, then we usually try to snag a few good ones of our own during the day.  Also, my wife likes loves rafia…so you will undoubtedly find some wrapped around your bundle of goodies.

We also use thin cases.  They are smaller, sleeker, and really just make more sense when adding it to your DVD collection.  I’ve got a lot of DVDs myself, so being able to put two where one used to fit is just smarter.

When all is said and done, your Video will look great (both on the outside and inside of the DVD player).

The Dudas Family

Larry and Katie asked us to join them out at Watson’s Mill Bridge State Park for a few family photos on the Saturday morning before the Georgia vs. Florida Football game in October.  She had informed me that anytime that she tried to snag a picture of little Luke, he’d immediately change his demeanor.  We accepted the challenge to try and get a few smiles out of him.  🙂  It wasn’t an easy task, but by the end of the shoot he livened up a bit (notice the sequence shot of him and Larry and his display of excitement).

We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather and the park was pretty empty seeing as how most people in a hundred mile radius try to make their way down to Jacksonville.  As a side note, Watson Mill will forever hold a soft spot in my heart as the place I busted my chin wide open while sliding down the rocks.  Memories.  Thanks Larry and Katie for allowing us to be a part of your day!

When Life Gives You Napkins, Make A Jump Rope

Nov 4, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  Comments Off on When Life Gives You Napkins, Make A Jump Rope

I really really wanted to put part of this wedding day celebration for all to see just to show you how much fun can be had at a wedding, despite the weather.

This is John and Kathryn’s wedding day and if you watched the time lapse of their wedding ceremony, you know that it was a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony.

Then the reception comes along and the clouds start to roll in, the sky gets dark and the inevitable happens. Rain…but not just rain…hail, too. And I mean it was coming down hard.

Despite it all, the guests really got into it and made it an unforgettable celebration!!! Even the bride and groom got in on the action.

All in all, this is a snippet from the reception of John and Kathryn and we just wanted you to see that no matter what the circumstances, it’s your wedding day, so make the most of it.

Stephanie may be one of the most calm and collected people I know.  She’s also got an eye for art and drawing and we share a passion for the Braves.  We had a lot of fun bouncing all over the place for this shoot.  Each one of the scene seeking to capture her personality.

Hannah saw one of our other Senior’s Shots and knew she wanted us to take hers, too.  We met up in Watkinsville and explored some of the artsy areas around downtown that made for a fun little shoot.
