We set up a Video Booth during the reception in which all of the guests could come by and pull a card out of a bag.  Each card had a Truth or a Dare written on it and the guest was required to answer/act it out.  What resulted was 30 minutes worth (final edit) of hilarity and shenanigans and I can’t wait to show Andy and Katie the whole thing.

But in the meantime, there’s this 5 minute clip of some of the silliness that took place.

A week or two ago we had a “Reveal Party”/”Gender Party”/”Sex Party” (I did not come up with that last one and let me be the first to say that I also did not condone it…in the words of Archer, “PHRASING!”

We wanted to have a fun way to share the news about our baby, so we decided to invite people over and give everyone a cupcake.  Only one of the cupcakes contained icing on the inside that was the color of the baby’s gender, so everyone chomped into a cupcake to see who the revealer would be.  As people were arriving, we had everyone fill out a small little card asking the questions, “Will it be a boy or girl?” and “What’s Your reason?”  We had a few interesting answers, so I thought I’d share those with you:

That brought the total voting to Boy = 6, Girl = 9.

Then the fun began and everyone grabbed a cupcake.

Even my sister got to join in on the fun from Seattle via FaceTime!

So there you have it.  It’s starting to get real.

She was in Athens for the day, so we decided to take some time and take a few graduation pictures for to have and send out to a few friends and family. Here are a few of those:

Jenifer loves to laugh/giggle.  Hence I had to catch one of these in the shoot.  It captures her so well.

and then there was this one.  I LOVED this one.  The only thing that could have made it better had there been a horse leaning over the fence eating an apple out of her hand.

Congratulations to my littlest sis for powering through the world of higher education!

There is no doubt that these two belong together. Each part of the wedding day painted a tiny portrait of how their love for each other will only grow as the years pass. Warm smiles, tender touches, and heartfelt laughter filled the air and we couldn’t help but feel like part of the bridal party as we captured the day.

It was an absolute joy to spend this important time with the two of you. We wish you the very best. Congratulations Patrick and Stephanie!

We made sure that didn’t happen again today at the 12 Week point and I made sure to capture it on video.

John 8:38 (NLT) – ‘Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’”

They lined up several women to come and share what “Freedom” means to them and I had the pleasure of capturing it all and putting it all together.

We’ll be posting the full testimonies of some of these women in the coming days, but this was an exciting way to kick off the promotion for their event on March 20, 2012 in Cleveland.

…and that’s exciting. Trisha is ecstatic. I’m pretty stoked myself. You can only imagine how excited our parents are about it.

Working at the church, I’ve always had the opportunity to share “news” with the congregation in unique and interesting ways. This goes back to when I first proposed to Trisha, we were having a youth auction to raise money for summer missions and before we got started I said, “Before I pray, I want to ask my fiance to come up here with me.” Excitement ensued.

If you’ve ever heard our wedding story (ask us sometime), you know that it was a surprise for the church and I basically kick started my own marriage ceremony with a Children’s Sermon that led to us getting hitched. More excitement ensued.

This time, we wanted to share with the youth first about the idea of us bringing human life on this earth, so I got this bright idea for our Wednesday Night Youth Game to be the game of charades. I made up a bunch of cards with words and phrases and we had been playing for about 20 minutes going back and forth between the two teams. Several of the youth had participated quite successfully and the time was ripe, so I asked one of the youth to come up and do the last set before we got started with our devotion. She did and her first clue was “Fire Engine.” This is where the video picks up. The next clue I gave her was “Trisha’s Pregnant.” The following takes place:

When thinking about how we wanted to tell the rest of the church about our news, there really wasn’t a better way than to let everyone in my weekly children’s sermon. We had asked/threatened the youth to keep it quiet until Sunday. For me, I knew that there would be some kids to spill the beans. It was more of a social experiement for me, since in past experience, the things you ask them to tell their parents, they don’t and the things you don’t ask them to tell their parents, they do. Despite it all, I was rather impressed that a majority of the kids kept it hush hush until Sunday morning. When the time came for the children’s sermon, it was finally time to let everyone know what was going on. Trisha decided she needed video evidence, so you can watch it:

When you take a step back and look at it, the things that really last from your wedding day are the memories…and I believe that videography is one of the BEST ways to capture and remember those moments.

PS.  I also want to draw on the fact that Vows have a lifetime expectancy.  The only catch to doing wedding videography for me is that I really don’t want repeat business. I want those memories captured to be just as beautiful 50 years from now as they were on their wedding day.   Just as I believe that photography and videography are meant to last a lifetime, I believe that vows are meant to last a lifetime as well.  It’s a beautiful thing.

Keigo and Judy were married on a perfect October morning in one of the gardens on the University of Georgia campus. From the very beginning they were all smiles for the cameras and you can truly tell how much they absolutely adore each other. (Just listen to how Keigo says, “WOW!” when he sees Judy for the first time).

From the ceremony we walked over to La Dolce Vita where they were able to eat, smile, and laugh with all of the friends and family that were there to share in their wedding.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of their big day as two families came together and we wish them the very best!
