Truth or Dare Video Booth

May 8, 2012   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog, Video Booth  //  No Comments

We had the privilege of filming Andy and Katie’s Wedding a few weeks ago at the gorgeous Braselton-Stover House.  There were A LOT of unique things about their wedding, especially the ceremony.  ; some of which I can’t wait to share with you once the editing is done, but in the mean time, I wanted to pass along this creative idea that Katie helped ponder up.

We set up a Video Booth during the reception in which all of the guests could come by and pull a card out of a bag.  Each card had a Truth or a Dare written on it and the guest was required to answer/act it out.  What resulted was 30 minutes worth (final edit) of hilarity and shenanigans and I can’t wait to show Andy and Katie the whole thing.

But in the meantime, there’s this 5 minute clip of some of the silliness that took place.

Best wishes to Andy and Katie!  If this video is any indication, you’ve surrounded yourself with entertaining friends that will always keep a smile on your face.

Wedding Life Expectancy

Jan 17, 2012   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  No Comments

The other day I was perusing the interwebs when I came across an article that was trying to put a wedding day into perspective. The point was to take each element of a typical wedding and consider the amount of time that specific part takes up in the day and compare it in the grand scheme of things in a lifetime of a marriage. I decided to make a little graphic to illustrate the point:

When you take a step back and look at it, the things that really last from your wedding day are the memories…and I believe that videography is one of the BEST ways to capture and remember those moments.

PS.  I also want to draw on the fact that Vows have a lifetime expectancy.  The only catch to doing wedding videography for me is that I really don’t want repeat business. I want those memories captured to be just as beautiful 50 years from now as they were on their wedding day.   Just as I believe that photography and videography are meant to last a lifetime, I believe that vows are meant to last a lifetime as well.  It’s a beautiful thing.

Keigo + Judy

Jan 15, 2012   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  No Comments

Keigo and Judy were married on a perfect October morning in one of the gardens on the University of Georgia campus. From the very beginning they were all smiles for the cameras and you can truly tell how much they absolutely adore each other. (Just listen to how Keigo says, “WOW!” when he sees Judy for the first time).

From the ceremony we walked over to La Dolce Vita where they were able to eat, smile, and laugh with all of the friends and family that were there to share in their wedding.

It was such a pleasure to be a part of their big day as two families came together and we wish them the very best!

Special thanks to Mark Bridges for being a second cameraman for the day.

Extra Luggage

Dec 19, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  No Comments

We’ve seen a lot of interesting things at weddings over the years.  Some funny, some touching, and some just flat out embarrassing.  Most of my experiences have led to some form of “Advice for the Couple” that I would pass on as they are preparing for their wedding day.

Thanks to Ben and Rebecca’s wedding I have a new one, and it is this:

Check your luggage BEFORE you leave the premises.

You never know what you may find.

Finished Product

Dec 13, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  No Comments

Ever wondered what the finish product looked like once all of the videos were done and shipped off?  Thanks for asking.  Here you go:

As you can see, we like to give it a nice, classy feel…almost like the front of a movie poster.  All images used are provided by the couple once they’ve received them from the photographer.  If your photographer doesn’t release the image copyright, then we usually try to snag a few good ones of our own during the day.  Also, my wife likes loves rafia…so you will undoubtedly find some wrapped around your bundle of goodies.

We also use thin cases.  They are smaller, sleeker, and really just make more sense when adding it to your DVD collection.  I’ve got a lot of DVDs myself, so being able to put two where one used to fit is just smarter.

When all is said and done, your Video will look great (both on the outside and inside of the DVD player).

Walt + Kayla Highlights

Aug 11, 2011   //   by brodybearden   //   Blog  //  No Comments

Walt and Kayla were married in Hartwell, GA on May 14, 2011 at Hartwell First Baptist Church. The Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Pictures took place at Cateechee Golf Course and the Reception was held at the Swails Center at Emmanuel College. It was an absolute pleasure to work with and spend two days with this couple. We may be a little biased though, since Walt was a part of our wedding three years ago. It was a privilege to return the favor.
